Choir Competition “Citizens of Harmony”

The Choir Competition “Citizens of Harmony” took place on Thursday, 03 November; 2016. Mothers of all the participants were invited to the event. The programme started with the recitation and translation of verses from the Holy Quran. Class 6 Choir sang the national anthem, school song and a beautiful hamd.
The competition was among five choirs of Class 5.The songs were based on values ie; respect, humility, unity, responsibility and honesty. The criterion of judgment was clarity of lyrics, rhythmic sense, melodic sense, tempo and pitch.
The task of judging the young talent was entrusted to a jury made up of professionals and specialists in choral voices. The jury was composed of Mr. Faisal Latif (Singer), Mr. Asad Ali (Music Teacher), Ms. Gulnar Humayun (Counsellor).The winning team was ‘Responsibility’ and runner-up team was ‘Respect’. The jury was very impressed by the quality of the singing and by the commitment shown by the participants and awarded the prizes listed below. The prizes were distributed by the Mrs. Naila Durrani (Network Head), Mrs. Azarmeen Chawla(Regional Manager Co-curricular Activites), Ms. Anum (Media Department, SRO), Ms. Bushra Nadeem (Vice Principal – Darakhshan Campus ) and the judges.

The programme ended with the melodious songs by DK nightingales Suzane Mohsin of Class 6T and Manal Gazdar of Class 5R who have won many laurels.

Everyone enjoyed the Choir Competition “Citizens of Harmony”, which on one hand filled our minds with melodious rhapsody and on the other reinforced the importance of values in our lives.
