The students of Class 5-C prepared a skit on the value Honesty, the skit was about a theft in a landlords house and intelligently the landlord informs his servants that the box has a cockatoo which will make a sound when touched by  the thief. The thief knowingly did not touch the box and his hand was not blackened by the soot on the box.

                                                                Welcome and Important Information

Dear Parents/Guardians,
At the beginning of the new academic session 2016-2017 we look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize the vital importance of this relationship between teachers and parents and seek your whole hearted support.
Our education programme is interwoven with a variety of skill-based activities with the aim of inculcating diverse skills in the students through healthy interactions and holistic teaching approach.
We request you to kindly note the following points:

Section Details
1.       School gates will be closed at 8 am. Thereafter, no student/teacher/visitor will be allowed inside the campus. Parents are requested not to meet the teachers in the classrooms.
2.       The visiting hours of the Section are from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm – Monday to Thursday.(prior appointment is required)
3.   Parents are requested to communicate with us through the homework diary in case of any query.
4.   Parents/Drivers are requested to bring the student’s ID card at the dispersal time to avoid any inconvenience.
5.   Students are to be dressed properly in the specified pattern of school uniform.
6.   A team of teachers in rotation has been detailed separately to keep an eye on the students in the school playground, canteen area, rear boundary wall and other sensitive areas during the recess / breaks and immediately after school hours. Teachers are also on duty  with the van students to ensure proper dispersal after the school gets over.                                 

Homework
A proper homework schedule is planned for the students according to the policy. The given homework will be the reinforcement of the work done in the class/school. Parents are requested to guide the children to complete the tasks.

Assessment and Examination
The two major components of formal assessment in The City School are Examinations and Course work.

Examinations
Mid Year Examination held in the First Term and End of Year Examination held in the Second Term.                                 
Mid Year Examinations comprise:
Course work % 1st Term
Mid Year Exam %
Average % of the two

Mid Year Average percentage is carried forward to the End of Year Report.

End of Year Report comprises:

Course work % 2nd Term
End of Year Exam %
Mid Year Average %
Average % of the three



Examinations are taken in the following subjects:

Class 5:  All subjects except ICT.
Class 6:  All eight subjects.

Coursework
Course work will be assessed throughout the term and will be made up of combination of:

Written tests Students are given a 02 days’ notice before a test.

Assessment of ongoing class work     Spread over the term
Course work marks are recorded in each student’s notebook on the last page. On the last Friday of each month, all notebooks are sent to parents,who are required to check and sign all the notebooks in the topic index and test index on last page..
Marks are allotted for Course work in the following proportions:
All subjects
Class tests
Class work
Homework
Notebook Maintenance
Project work

100 marks

If a student misses a test due to illness, a medical certificate must be provided. If the reason for absence is justified, the end of the term average is based on the other tests only. However, if the reason for absence is not justified, a mark of zero will be recorded for that test. Retest will not be taken.

Value based Education empowers individuals to be effective learners and good citizens. In order to inculcate values in children, parents are requested to complement our efforts and spend quality time with them.

Independence Day 2016

Independence Day 2016



Independence Day was celebrated to promote patriotism and national unity. The morning assembly presentation was prepared by the students of Class 5-T and 6-T to celebrate Independence Day of Pakistan, the students enacted as the leaders of the freedom movement and sang patriotic songs followed by the quiz. This day is a reminder of the untold sacrifices of Muslims of the subcontinent for freedom.
