Fun @ Fair Maths carnival
The City School Darakhshan Campus, Prep Girls Section organized ‘Fun@ the Fair - Math Carnival 2017’ on Tuesday, 9th October 2018. Carnival was aimed at inspiring the love for Mathematics and to help eliminate the fear of Math from young minds. The event exhibited the activities that take math out of the classroom and into interesting everyday problem-solving.
Students along with their class teachers were free to set up any stall they wish to. Each section selected two food stalls and three-game stall for their section. The carnival developed the sense of ownership in students and they collaboratively worked towards the goal to achieve the success. Team spirit was witnessed and values were dominant in regard to cooperation, responsibility, and discipline.
Students were assigned the post-carnival responsibility to calculate profit and loss statement for their respective stalls. As the event was a success, the initial investment was returned to the students along with a letter of appreciation to the parents.
The earned profit was given to Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation (ACF)- sponsor a pet programme.
