Book Week Day 1 "Character Parade"

DAY 1: PARADE OUT BOOKS
Prep Girls Section organized the assembly on ‘Parade Out Books’ on Monday, November 12, 2018. The parade was one of the events of Book Week and the aim was to provide children with a strong foundation and appetite for reading. Students of Class 6, Class 7 and Class 8 showcased their course novels Matilda, Phantom Tollbooth and The Hobbit respectively. The announcement was made two weeks prior to the event. Auditions were taken and selection was made. Students wore costumes depicting their favourite characters in stories.

A competition was organized and Dr. Azra Shaheryar, Network Academic Coordinator was invited to judge participants’ performance. A ramp was setup for the students. Each character spoke for 1 minute about their role in the novel. Students displayed confidence, enthusiasm and presented themselves closely as characters’ physical trait and attire.
The students were judged on the basis on confidence, attire, facial expressions/ gestures and content presentation.

We Soar Upwards "Declamtion Contest 2018-19"


English Declamation 2018 was organized by English Faculty of Prep Girls Section. The main theme of the event was the showcasing of Our Values and thus the slogan of the event was ‘We S.O.A.R upwards” in which S stands for Strength, O stands for Optimism, A stands for appreciation and R stands for being Realistic . Students of Class 7 and 8 were selected for delivering the speech on different values including Happiness, Simplicity, Knowledge, Gratitude, and Honesty, and Courtesy, signification of language, Kindness and Hard work. The programme began with the holy name of Allah followed by the national Anthem and school song. Later, the choir mesmerized the audience by beautifully sung Hamd.
The participants displayed confidence, enthusiasm and clarity of speech.  Students were highly appreciated for their efforts by the audience and judges.  At intervals, Manal Gazdar from 7-S sang a melodious song ‘Ek baar kaho tum’ as this song will soon be sung in the Obhartay Sitaray 2018 Contest in the following week. Alongside, an Art Competition was held as well where students of Class 8 portrayed the values in a creative form. The Declamation was judged by English Teacher Ms. Hanna of Senior Girls and Ms. Humaira of Senior Boys and Art Competition was judged by Ms. Nilofer Zaheer from Prep Boys. The hard work of teachers and students paid off hugely. Displayed below are results of the position holders.

Iqbal Day

Iqbal day is organized and celebrated on 9 November every year in all the provinces as a tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the "Poet of the East". We, at Prep Girls Section, organized a special Assembly to pay tribute to Allama Iqbal. Urdu teachers prepared the broadcasters with the script enriched with Iqbal’s famous verses. Class 6 students presented a poetry Tableau, “Ma ka Khuwab” whereas, Class 7 girls were chosen for reciting Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa followed by the famous song ‘Har Lehza hai momin’. The assembly ended by giving out gifts to the students and teachers who recited Allama Iqbal’s poetry. Souvenirs with Allama Iqbal famous verses with given out to the teachers and heads.

Movie Day

In our endeavour to integrate fun and learning, screening of the movie was planned for Students of Prep Girls Section on Tuesday 07 November 2018. Showcasing the movie aims to put the novel in hand at the heart of students and upraise young people's learning experience and understanding of novels in their English Literature Classes. The power of the movie was to make an emotional connection and to enable students to experience this power through education was the theme. Students watched the movies of their respective novels, which were as follows:
Class 6 – Matilda
Class 7 – Phantom Tollbooth
Class 8 – Hobbit







The discipline of the students conducted the day with success. Girls enjoyed watching the movie with their friends and teachers followed by KFC combo deal provided. The journey ended by handing over the students to their parents and guardians directly from the cinema hall.
