Elocution and Art
Contest
Elocution is an art form which few people are
blessed with and others must master it through repeated observation, hearing and
practice. Participating in elocution imbues a child with confidence as he
develops apt form of expressions and voice modulations when it comes to public
speaking. Thus, keeping in mind the importance of public speaking Prep Girls
Section organized Elocution Wednesday
February 19th, 2020 for
Classes 6, 7 and 8. The Elocution Contest for Class 6 and 7 was based on
highlighting the values and attitudes we taught to work on and live by whereas, Class 8 recited poems of the famous
poet Edgar Allan Poe. The students discussed these values and its importance
through the poems they enchantedTheprogramme was initiated with the welcoming
note by Maira Tariq, the Red House Captain. Each participant was given a
maximum of 2 minutes to recite her poem. English Elocution was judged by Ms. Farah
Faisal, the English Teacher of Senior Girls Section and Ms. Sana Shah, the
English teacher of Prep Boys Section on a number of factors such as the content
and message of their poem, their pronunciation and clarity, their facial and
hand expressions and gestures and finally their ability to memorize the
content. Parents were mesmerized by the choir performance. The prize distribution
was held after the programme. The programme was concluded by vote of the thanks
by Naba Imam, President of English Literary Club.
