Declamation Contest 2019 was organized by the English Faculty of Prep Girls Section on Tuesday, 12th March 2019. The main aim of the event was to provide a platform to the students to boost their confidence and speak to lead. And so does the slogan for the Declamation Contest states “SPEAK TO LEAD”. Students of Classes 6, 7 and 8 were selected for delivering the speech on different topics. Class 6 threw light on the importance of Family and spoke on the topic “The family is one of the greatest blessings.” While the girls of Class 7 spoke about “What goes around comes around.” The topic chosen for class 8 was “The existence of the woman is the baseline of a beautiful life.”
The programme began with the holy name of Allah followed by the National Anthem and School Song. Later, the choir gave their alluring performance to the audience by a beautifully sung Hamd. The young talented girls Ayra Asif of Class 6T and Maherpul of Class 8 N enthralled the audience by their Solo performance. The contest was judged by Ms. Sana Shah, The English Teacher of Prep Boys Section and Mr. Waqar Munawwar, the English teacher of Senior Boys Section. Each participant was given a maximum of 2 minutes for the speech. They were judged on the content and message, their pronunciation and clarity, their facial and hand expressions and gestures and finally their ability to memorize the content. The participants displayed confidence, enthusiasm, and clarity of speech. Students were highly appreciated for their efforts by the audience and judges as all the participants came up on the stage for the very first time.
