Day 2: D.E.A.R
“Drop Everything and Read”
The ability to read is a vital skill in
being able to function in today's
society. Reading is important
because it helps to expand the mind and develops the imagination. To emphasize
on the importance of reading, the second event of Book Week was D.E.A.R which stands for Drop Everything
and Read. The diary note was sent for bringing any reading material a day
before the activity. A card displaying D.E.A.R was placed on the white board in
each class. All the students and staff were found indulged in Reading Activity
in the first period. The activity communicated the strong message depicting the
importance of reading in one’s life as rightly said by George R.R. Martin “A
reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only on
e.”
