The girls’ choir from Darakhshan Campus,
Pakistani Nightingales, will be representing Pakistan in the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization (SCO) Choral Summer Camp and the 13th China
International Chorus Festival (CICF) in Beijing, China. It is the only
choir that has been invited to participate and perform from Pakistan.
This year’s Summer Choral Camp marks the
15th anniversary of the SCO. The Ministry of Culture of China will host
this Camp from 24–30 July 2016. This will help in strengthening the
artistic and cultural exchange and cooperation among the SCO Member
States. The Camp has invited choirs from SCO Member States, Observer
States and Dialogue Partners as participants to attend the 13th China
International Chorus Festival, interact with Chinese choirs and enable
the Chinese public to enjoy diversified choral arts.
Organized by the Bureau of External
Relations, Ministry of Culture, P.R. China and China Arts and
Entertainment Group, it is the only state-level international chorus
festival in China.
Good luck to the Pakistani Nightingales!
